Brazil dollar outflow surpasses inflow
Brazil's outflow of dollars beat the inflow in July for the third consecutive month. Last month, the balance stood at a negative $3.935 billion. A deficit was also reported in July 2014—$1.791 billion.
From January to July this year, the foreign exchange flow was reported at a positive $7.165 billion, against the $2.355 billion in the same period last year.
Last month, the country's financial flow—investments in bonds, profit remittances, dividends abroad, among other transactions—led the exchange flow to a $8.376 billion deficit. The commercial flow, in turn—exchange transactions associated with exports and imports—posted a positive $4.441 billion.
As for the year-to-date numbers, the financial flow was reported at minus $7.088 billion, and the commercial flow at plus $14.252 billion.
