In an optimistic day for the financial market, São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) reported sharp increase and closed at the highest level in nine months. São Paulo Stock Exchange index, Ibovespa, ended Tuesday (Apr. 12) with a rise of 3.66%, at 52,802 points. The indicator is at its highest level since July 17, last year. Ibovespa posted a year-to-date high of 19.96%.
Vale mining company's shares brought major gains. The common stocks (with voting rights) rose 10.43%, and the preferred stocks (with preference in the distribution of dividends) jumped 10.94%. Petrobras' shares, the most active traded on Bovespa, also rose sharply, up 8.93% (common stocks) and 7.63% (preferred stocks).
