Brazil: Dollars inflow surpasses outflow by $1.29 billion in July
After two consecutive months of dollar outflow in Brazil surpassing its inflow, the foreign exchange balance in the country stood at a positive $1.297 billion in July, according to Central Bank data, released this Wednesday (Aug. 3).
The positive result was caused by the commercial flow—exchange transactions associated with exports and imports—with $4.092 billion. While the financial flow—investments in bonds, remittances, dividends abroad and direct investment in the country, among other transactions—stood at a negative $2.794 billion.
From January to July, the Brazilian exchange flow stood at a negative $9.111 billion, reporting a negative balance of $38.613 billion in financial flow and a positive balance of $29.502 in commercial flow.
