Brazil govt plans to announce new project tenders for private partnerships
This Tuesday (March 7), the federal government will decide the new infrastructure projects to be awarded to private businesses in the upcoming years. Brazil's President Michel Temer, who heads the board of the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI), will lead the meeting that will discuss the new priorities of the Crescer (“Grow”) project.
After the meeting, about 40 auctions will be announced for concession contracts or sales to private corporations, as happened after the board's first meeting in last September.
Projects are expected in energy, water management, highways, and railways. In 2016, the government published a list of four airports as well as 30 other projects to be awarded in concession tenders as part of the PPI, most of which should be auctioned this year.
The chief administrative aide to the presidency who leads the PPI program, Moreira Franco, will be at the meeting.
