The Brazilian Economy Uncertainty Indicator (IIE-BR), measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), dropped 2 points from October to November this year. This was the second consecutive fall in the indicator.

Despite the drop, the indicator, which reached 129.3 points, is 14.2 points above the level of February 2020 (115.1 points), that is, the pre-pandemic period of covid-19 in the country.

The drop in uncertainty was caused by the 5.8-point drop in the media component, based on the frequency of news mentioning uncertainty in print and online media.

The expectations component, built from forecasts by economic analysts, on the other hand, grew 14.2 points, the fourth consecutive increase.
