Brazil’s official inflation falls to 0.16% in March

Year to date, it stands at 1.42%, and 3.93% in 12 months

Brazil´s Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA), which gauges the country's official inflation, fell to 0.16 percent in March of this year. In February, the rate stood at 0.83 percent, and in March last year, at 0.71 percent.

As per data released on Wednesday (Apr. 10) by the government´s statistics agency IBGE, year to date, the inflation stands at 1.42%, and 3.93% in 12 months.

Inflation in March was primarily propelled by the food and beverages expenditure group, which witnessed a 0.53 percent increase in prices during the month.
