Brazil sets record for exports to US in 2024
According to a survey by the American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil (Amcham Brasil), Brazilian exports to the United States hit a record $40.3 billion in 2024, marking a 9.2 percent increase compared to the previous year. The data were released on Thursday (Jan. 16) in São Paulo.
The export volume also reached unprecedented levels, with 40.7 million tons of products shipped to that country—an increase of 9.9 percent compared to 2023.
Brazilian industry also set a record with $31.6 billion in sales to the US in 2024, marking a 5.8 percent increase from 2023.
Industrial products made up 78.3 percent of all Brazilian exports to the United States, solidifying its position as the top destination for Brazilian industrial sales for the ninth consecutive year.
Key industrial products exported include crude oil, aircraft, coffee, cellulose, and beef.
Brazilian imports of US products grew by 6.9 percent in 2024, reaching $40.6 billion. Sectors such as engines, non-electric machinery, and aircraft saw significant results, contributing to the second-highest import value on record, surpassed only by 2022's $51.3 billion.
Europe
Brazilian industrial exports in 2024 totaled $22.4 billion to the European Union and $18.8 billion to Mercosur.
