The result brings the annual unemployment rate to 6.6 percent, the lowest level in the time series that began in 2012. Before that, the lowest level had been seven percent in 2014.

In the last quarter of 2024, unemployed Brazilians totaled 6.8 million-stable compared to the previous quarter and 15.6 percent lower than in the last quarter of the previous year (1.3 million fewer people).

The employed population (103.8 million) grew in both comparisons: 0.8 percent (789 thousand more people) in the quarter and 2.8 percent (2.8 million more people) in the year.
