Libertadores: Athletico beats Estudiantes and qualifies for semifinals

It will play Palmeiras in the next phase of the competition

Through the brightness of the 17-year-old striker Vitor Roque, Athletico Paranaense (Brazil) defeated Estudiantes (Argentina) 1-0, on Thursday night (Aug. 11) at Jorge Luis Hirschi stadium, in La Plata (Argentina), and qualified for the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores.

Athletico-PR's next opponent is Palmeiras (Brazil), which secured a spot in the semifinals, defeating Atlético-MG (Brazil) by 6-5, on Wednesday (Aug. 10) in a penalty shootout.

On Tuesday (Aug. 9), Flamengo (Brazil) moved to the next stage by defeating Corinthians (Brazil). The team's next match will be against Vélez Sarsfield (Argentina).
