Gabriele Siqueira wins bronze at Paris 2022 World Taekwondo Grand Prix
Brazilian Gabriele Siqueira on Sunday (Sep. 4) won the bronze medal at the Paris 2022 World Taekwondo Grand Prix, in France. The competition, which brings together the best athletes in the world of this sports category, counts points for the race for a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games.
"I would like to thank everyone for their support. It was a very difficult competition. I would have liked to win the gold, but I'm taking home the bronze for Brazil," the athlete declared to the press office of the Brazilian Taekwondo Confederation (CBTKD).
The highlight of Gabriele's performance in the competition was her victory over world champion and Olympic medalist Bianca Wakden, from Great Britain. The Brazilian kept winning, until she was defeated by Althea Laurin from France, in the semifinals.
