Indian Wells: Bia Haddad's doubles in women's semifinals
Brazilian Bia Haddad did not need to play Wednesday (Mar. 15) to secure the qualification to the semifinals of the Indian Wells Masters 1000, in the United States. She and German Laura Siegemund overcame the quarterfinals of the competition after Swiss players Belinda Bencic and Jil Teichmann withdrew from the competition for a reason not disclosed by the organizers.
In the semifinals, there is a possibility that Bia Haddad will face another athlete from Brazil in the search for classification for the great women's doubles final of Indian Wells, Luisa Stefani. For this to happen, Stefani and Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski need to beat in the quarterfinals Japanese Miyu Kato and Indonesian Aldila Sutijiadi, in a match scheduled for this Thursday (16).
