Tennis: Luisa Stefani's doubles wins at US Masters 1000

Brazilian tennis player Luisa Stefani and Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski had their debut at the Indian Wells Masters 1000, in the United States, with a 2 sets victory over Kazakh Anna Danilina and American Asia Muhammad, on Sunday (Mar. 12).

"Great debut. Very clean game on our part. I think they’ve played a little lower, they were erratic, but we managed to keep the level and the pressure on them all the time, which was important for our victory in two sets. Very happy that we’re playing together again in this opening. I'm excited for the next round, a good duo that started playing together recently, but we’re well connected," the Brazilian player said.

Now, in the round of 16, Brazilian and Canadian players will face Chilean Alexa Guarachi and New Zealander Erin Routliffe.

However, before Stefani's game, another Brazilian will be in action in the doubles event. Next Monday (13), Bia Haddad and German Laura Siegemund will play against Ukrainian Lyudmyla Kichenok and Latvian Jeļena Ostapenko.
