Brazilian Daniel Nascimento finished the Hamburg Marathon on Sunday (Apr. 23) on fourth place with 2h07min06s—thus nailing the Olympic standard for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Besides running below the standard for the Paris Games—2h08min10s—the Brazilian ran again below the mark required for the next edition of the World Athletics Championship, to be held in Budapest from August 19–27.

In the Marathon of the Paris Games, Brazil may be represented by up to three athletes. If more than three Brazilians meet the standard, the three highest-ranking ones are qualified, but only after confirmation from the World Athletics.
