Lula shows support for Brazil’s bid to host Women’s World Cup

The FIFA delegation that is inspecting Brazil as part of the country’s bid to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup was in Brasília on Wednesday (Feb. 21). During their visit to the capital, the representatives of the governing body of world football met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Planalto presidential palace.
After the meeting, the president published a message on his social networks expressing his confidence that Brazil will be chosen to host the mega sporting event: “I am sure that our country—due to its tradition in football and the structure of the stadiums already built—is fully capable of hosting this event at a time when women’s football is on the rise both in Brazil and around the world. It will be a moment of great visibility to foster women's football.”
