Brazilian surfer Tatiana Weston-Webb, known as Tati, won the silver medal in the women's surfing event at the Paris Olympic Games in France, finishing second to American Caroline Marks. Marks scored 10.50, while Weston-Webb scored 10.33 on Monday (Aug. 5), in the waves of Teahupoo, Tahiti.

This was Brazil's second medal in surfing at the Paris Games, following Gabriel Medina's bronze in the men's event. Medina secured third place by defeating Peru's Alonso Correa.

"It's been a tough few days, but they've been blessed as well as tough. Especially as we had the best place to take part in the Olympics. It was a huge honor to represent Brazil, my country. I almost won gold, but silver means everything to me. This is the highest moment of my career," said Tati.
