World Cup: Brazil face Peru in qualifiers
Brazil coach Dorival Júnior stated in a press conference that he anticipates a challenging match against Peru on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasília, as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
“It’s going to be a tough game. They [the Peruvian national team] have players who excel in aerial challenges, midfielders who arrive quickly to try and finish, and they are strong at set pieces. We need to be especially careful, as the Peruvian team will certainly demand a lot from our team in this next step we want to take,” said Dorival Júnior.
Occupying only 4th place in the standings with 13 points—six less than leaders Argentina—Brazil need to take advantage of playing at home to secure an important victory. According to Dorival Júnior, the support of the fans could make a difference against the Peruvians: “The fans, in the cities we've visited, have always supported us. We're seeking more interaction; our players are responding, and the fans can see that.”
