Brazilian Vanessa Molon won the overall title of the European Snowboard Cup, which concluded last Monday (Feb. 3) in Kühtai, Austria. The athlete from Rio Grande do Sul secured the championship by earning two silver medals in this stage of the competition.

Molon claimed her first silver on Sunday (2) in the Banked Slalom event for the Upper Limb category. The Brazilian finished in 1min32s23, just behind Dutchwoman Emke Vaessen, who won with 1min31s93.

The next day, Monday, Vanessa returned to the podium, once again finishing second behind Emke Vaessen. With her combined results from previous rounds, the Brazilian secured the overall title of the European Snowboard Cup.

“Vanessa already had enough points to qualify for the World Cup [...], but we chose to compete in the Europa Cup at this stage for a shot at the title, which was ultimately secured,” said Nuno Marques, known as Mancha, coach of the Brazilian Paralympic snowboard team.
