The death toll in the heavy rains that came over Itaoca, São Paulo, has risen to 24 people. The rainstorm has also left 196 displaced and three missing.
The Emergency Service reported that the response efforts are now focused around removing trees and clearing the city center.
In another municipality, Taboão da Serra, a heavy rainstorm on Wednesday (Jan. 22) evening caused the Pirajussara stream to overflow, flooding more than 500 homes according to the Emergency Service. In the capital, São Paulo, more than 100 homes were also flooded.
