Gol and TAM airline aircraft landed in Brasília airport ANTONIO CRUZ-AGENCIA BRASIL

The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) authorized two airlines to operate 15 new weekly flights between Brazil and the United States as of Tuesday (Oct. 28).

Varig Airlines SA (controlled by Gol airline) was granted one new weekly service, and another 14 will be operated by TAM, the leading airline in Latin America. The licenses cover both cargo and passenger flights.

ANAC is a special agency of the Civil Aviation Secretariat housed under the Presidency. It has a regulatory and supervisory role in civil aviation and air travel infrastructure.
