The World Water Forum 8, to be held in Brasília from March 18 to 23, is giving companies a chance to show the  world how to deal with water. The event will take place in two different spaces: the Expo, directed at registered visitors, and the Fair, free to everyone, located in the Citizen Village, to be built at the Mané Garrincha Stadium.

World Water Forum Director for Operations Rodrigo Cordeiro, in charge of the stands and the areas in both the Expo and the Fair, regards the event as a unique opportunity for companies to communicate with the public in the language they see fit. At the Expo, he explains, “where the public is more segmented and access is limited to those registered at the Forum, language can be more technical. As for the Fair, language must convey everything the company does in a way that society can understand.”

Cordeiro noted that the series of water crises facing Brazil and other parts of the world in recent times have led to greater awareness on the topic—both among the authorities, who must engage people in the appropriate use of water, and consumers, including companies. The Forum comes as a chance to directly inform those interested in the topic. “Water has become subject to society's debate,” he argues.

Stands are to occupy an area of some 9,600m², compared to the 8 thousand m² in previous editions, with 150 companies expected to attend, along with 45 thousand people. Visitors can register and check for news and content at http://www.worldwaterforum8.org/.
