The heavy rains seen in Rio de Janeiro caused city authorities to declare state of attention at 11:40 pm (local time) on Sunday (25).
Landslide risks led to alert sirens being rung in three areas in Jacarepaguá, Western Rio, in the early hours, and two in the South (Chapéu Mangueira/Babilônia, and Cabritos) in the morning.
Flooding has been reported in several areas across the city. In the Rocinha slum, rainfall reached 32 mm from 6:30 to 7:30 am today local time.
