The Ministry of Justice and Public Security extended the authorization for the National Public Security Force to support the national indigenous foundation FUNAI, in the Camicuã indigenous land, in the state of Amazonas.

Military soldiers will act to preserve public order, people's safety, and property. The activities will last 90 days, until January 12, 2023.

According to the document signed by minister Anderson Torres, the number of troops to be made available will follow the planning defined by the National Public Security Force Board of Directors and the National Secretary of Public Security.

The Camicuã indigenous land was approved by Decree No. 381, of December 24, 1991. Its administrative demarcation was carried out by FUNAI. The land is inhabited by the Apurinã indigenous group and is located in the Amazonian municipality of Boca do Acre.
