Former President Jair Bolsonaro testified to the Federal Police (PF), on Wednesday (26), as determined by the Supreme Court (STF), in the investigation of the coup acts on January 8. According to Bolsonaro's defense, the post made by him with lies about the electoral system was "accidental."

The post raised suspicions of the former president's involvement with the coup acts that resulted in the invasion and destruction of the Three Branches headquarters in Brasilia.

Bolsonaro's defense attorney, Fábio Wajngarten said that the former president answered all the questions asked in today's deposition, and that he would have even repudiated the January 8 attacks. "The 2022 elections are a page turned for him, who condemns the acts in Brasilia."

The publication of fake news on a social network by the former president was accidental, according to lawyers, after Bolsonaro tried to save the video containing false information with criticism of the Brazilian electoral system and with questionings about the election results.

In the assessment of the Minister of the Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes, this post may indicate a link between Bolsonaro and the coup acts, which is why the Federal Police was ordered to interrogate him.
