Residents of São Paulo and tourists who have decided to spend New Year’s Eve in the city will be treated to a variety of musical styles at the city’s traditional festivities, which are open to the public free of charge. This edition of New Year’s Eve on Paulista Avenue will also mark the beginning of celebrations for the city’s 470th anniversary.

The program includes performances by country singers Chitãozinho & Xororó and Zezé di Camargo, as well as Claudia Leitte, Ellen Oléria, Ivo Meirelles, Baile do Simonal, Léo Maia, and the Mocidade Alegre samba school.

Gospel singer Ton Carfi is also among the attractions. DJ Cranmarry will play during the show breaks.

The concerts will take place on a stage set up between Haddock Lobo and Bela Cintra streets. To guarantee the public’s safety, the security team will carry out entry control and people will be searched.

The public

A survey tourism observatory SPTuris, with 1,257 respondents, found that almost half (43%) of the public who attended the last New Year's Eve party were from outside the capital, including residents of Greater São Paulo. Of these, 81.2 percent were from elsewhere within the state. The states of Paraná, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, and Bahia were also identified as places of origin.

Within the state, the predominant cities were Guarulhos, Campinas, São Bernardo do Campo, Diadema, and Sorocaba. The festival grossed BRL 300 million.
