Rio’s Carnival celebrations officially kick off this weekend (Jan. 13–14), along with monitoring efforts to ensure the safety of revelers.
Rio Operations Center (COR) should have a Situation Room with 60 agents per shift and a 104m² videowall, formed by 125 55-inch screens.
In addition, drones will transmit images of the main parades in downtown Rio in real time to operators.
Another new feature will be the addition of 30 cameras with an exclusive view of parade routes. The exact locations are still being worked out with the city's tourism company.
In order for tourists and revelers to be informed in real time about the routes and road closures, a partnership has been signed with traffic app Waze through the Waze for Cities program.
