Minister Rosa Weber was elected today (10) president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The inauguration is scheduled for September 12, when the Minister Luiz Fux, current president, will complete a two-year term and leave the command of the Court.

After the vote, the minister received compliments from her colleagues and stated that she is honored to lead the STF. The election is symbolic because the minister currently holds the position of vice president.

"Especially in these turbulent times that we are living in, the exercise of this position is an immense challenge. I will try to carry it out with all seriousness and with the support of Your Excellencies, which for me will be fundamental. Always in the defense of the integrity and sovereignty of the Constitution and the democratic regime", he declared.

With the inauguration of Rosa Weber, the position of vice president will be exercised by the minister Luís Roberto Barroso.
