Bolivia President Evo Morales will arrive in Brazil on Tuesday (Feb. 2) and be welcomed by President Dilma Rousseff at Palácio do Planalto.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit aims to strengthen and streamline political, economic and commercial coordination mechanisms. It will cover bilateral trade, energy integration, water management, cooperation in countering transnational crime, and Bolivia's accession to MERCOSUR.

The Foreign Ministry reported that Brazil is the leading destination for Bolivian exports and the second larger exporter to Bolivia. In 2015, bilateral trade flows totaled about $4 billion. Natural gas imported from Bolivia accounts for about 30% of the overall supply in the Brazilian market. Brazil's exports to Bolivia consist basically of manufactured products.
