Diplomat new spokesman for Brazil gov't
President Michel Temer chose diplomat Alexandre Parola as the new spokesman for the presidency, a position that had been vacant since the beginning of last year. Parola's name was appointed after the release of statements by government members regarded as contradictory. Temer hopes a diplomat can make the discourse more uniform.
Communication posed a hindrance to the government in the last few weeks, as demonstrated by a comment made by Labor Minister Ronaldo Nogueira, who said the government was to propose a change in the 12-hour work day; and Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who revealed that an action was about to be carried out by investigators in the task force of Operation Car Wash, which coincided with the arrest of former Minister Antonio Palocci the next day.
Alexandre Parola is a career diplomat and also Phd in Philosophy. He also holds a master's degree in Economy.
