On Tuesday (Oct. 17), members of the Chamber of Deputies will focus on the discussion and vote with the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ) on the report presented last Tuesday (10) by Bonifácio de AndradaWilson Dias/Agência Brasil

This week, the attention of Brazil's Congress members will be chiefly directed at the deliberations at the lower house over the charges against President Temer, his Secretary-General Moreira Franco, and Chief of Staff Eliseu Padilha; as well as at the decision on the future of Aécio Neves, ousted from office at the Senate by the Supreme Court.

On Tuesday (Oct. 17), members of the Chamber of Deputies will focus on the discussion and vote with the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ) on the report presented last Tuesday (10) by Bonifácio de Andrada, recommending the shelving of the charges lodged by federal prosecutors against the president.

Whatever the outcome of the vote, the report will be submitted to the full house for consideration and vote next week. A total of 342 votes are necessary for the probe to continue.

Also on Tuesday (17), senators are to decide on the return to office of Aécio Neves. The senator was ousted by a provisional measure issued by the Supreme Court. In a response to an appeal, the court ruled it is the duty of the Senate to ultimately decide on a senator's mandate.
