Bolsonaro’s first int’l trip will be to Chile
The first international trip to be made by Brazil’s president-elect will be to Chile, as confirmed today (Oct. 29) by Federal Deputy Onyx Lorenzoni, who has been tasked with Jair Bolsonaro’s political talks. According to the congressman, Bolsonaro’s likely choice for chief-of-staff, arrangements have been made with Chilean President Sebastián Piñera.
Lorenzoni says that the partnership with the neighboring country will boost the project of growth in the region. Another trip in Bolsonaro’s schedule is to the US.e
The lawmaker said that Bolsonaro wants to talk to US President Trump, who phoned him yesterday (Oct. 28) to congratulate him.
Lorenzoni noted that Brazil will have a constitutional government and added that Brazilian constitutions are solid.
A trip to Brasília
Onyx Lorenzoni said that a meeting is likely to take place tomorrow morning (Oct. 30) with figures close to Bolsonaro aimed at discussing “basic administrative matters.” He said that the president-elect is to remain in Rio de Janeiro and should only go to Brasília next week, adding that the talks with the President Temer’s transition team should only begin in November 5.
However, some of Bolsonaro’s allies say he is preparing to come to Brasília tomorrow. He must assemble the group to take part in the transition at the office built at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil in the capital. He may name up to 50 people, but fewer than the minimum 20.
