Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro underwent surgery today (Jan. 28) to remove his colostomy bag and fix his intestinal tract. The operation was carried out at the Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital, in São Paulo, where the president was admitted Saturday (26).
Bolsonaro has been using a colostomy bag for four months since he suffered a knife attack during a campaign rally in Minas Gerais, which led him to undergo two emergency procedures.
Forty-eight hours after the surgery, Bolsonaro will resume his work at the hospital, where he is expected to stay for ten days recuperating. A special working station has been prepared for the president.
