Bolsonaro sees improvement, no date of discharge disclosed
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro today (Jul. 15) saw an improvement considered “satisfactory” by the medical staff at the Vila Nova Star Hospital, where he has been hospitalized since yesterday (Jul. 14) in São Paulo city. According to the medical report released early in the afternoon, the treatment is going as planned and no estimate has been disclosed as to when the president should be discharged from hospital.
Bolsonaro went to São Paulo by decision of Dr. Antonio Luiz Macedo, responsible for the president’s abdominal surgeries. He was hospitalized yesterday morning at the Armed Forces Hospital in Brasília with a persistent hiccup crisis and malaise. After exams were conducted, the president was diagnosed with intestinal obstruction.
Since the attack, when he was stabbed during the electoral campaign in 2018, Bolsonaro has undergone seven surgeries in the abdominal region in order to correct the lesions in the intestines.
