President signs MP that enables health plan for the Federal Police
A provisional measure (MP) signed this Thursday (16) by President Jair Bolsonaro should enable the creation of a health plan for Federal Police servers. The text, which will be published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU) , expands the scope of allocation of resources from the Fund for Equipment and Operationalization of the Federal Police's core activities (Funapol).
The announcement of the new MP was made during the closing ceremony of the professional training course for 670 PF agents, in Brasília. The event was attended by the president; Anderson Torres, Justice and Public Security, and PF General Director Paulo Gustavo Maiurino.
"It is a decades-long longing of our staff and it will benefit our civil servants, police and administrative staff, as well as their dependents," said Maiurino.
With the legal change, Funapol's resources will be able to be used to cover the cost of transport, accommodation and food for servers in official missions and operations and indemnity values, in addition to the payment of health expenses. As it is a provisional measure, it takes effect immediately, but it will need to be approved by the National Congress within 120 days so as not to lose its validity.
According to the federal government, the MP does not entail the creation or increase of public expenses, nor the granting of any increase in the remuneration of public servants. The text only expands the possibilities for using the resources that already exist in the background.
President Jair Bolsonaro highlighted the role of the PF in fighting corruption, and said that Brazilian society expects a lot from the work of the new agents.
"You are extremely important to our Brazil. Your presence already conveys a feeling that we want to do the right thing, you are closely associated with the PF in the fight against corruption. Yes. It is one of your most important missions. And you, acting as they do, increasingly bring to our population this true feeling that our Brazil can work," he said.
Course
The new agent training course began in October and lasted for 10 weeks of ongoing training. The new members of the PF carried out activities such as simulated practical exercises, shooting practice, self-defense and dissemination of operational and intelligence techniques.
The students were also the first to use the Cidade Cenográfica, a new training center with over 5,500 square meters of built-up area, and which has 35 modules that allow the reproduction of 14 different environments to carry out simulated exercises.
