The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) warns Brazilian voters (native and naturalized) that the deadline for downloading and updating the e-Título, an electronic identification document that replaces the paper version of the voter's title, ends today (29), the day before the second round of voting.

The TSE advises voters to follow the rules of use and download or update the e-Title "as soon as possible, to avoid difficulties that may arise if the issue is left to the last minute".

Step by step

Downloading the e-Título is free and can be done on cell phones and tablets, for Android and iOS systems, via the App Store and Google Play.

"You must already have a registration at the Electoral Justice to release the digital title, which can be accessed at any time. After downloading it, just enter the personal data requested and answer a few questions. To validate the access, the information is cross-referenced with the information in the Electoral Justice system," explains the TSE.

According to the court, voters who already have the e-Título should check that everything is correct by keeping the app updated. Difficulties are usually solved by reinstalling the application. "However, the orientation is that voters should not leave it until the last minute, because on election day it will not be possible to solve any problems with the use of the app.

Utilities

Implemented in 2018, the e-Título can be downloaded to cell phones to be presented at voting time, if it is updated and has a photo. It can also be used for queries about voting locations, as well as to justify absences at the polls, issue a certificate of electoral discharge and a criminal record, among other services.

According to the TSE, until the eve of the first round of voting, about 30 million voters had activated the application in Brazil and abroad. Of this total, 13 million activations were made this year.
