Superior Electoral court makes Lula and Alckmin`s victory official

The ceremony defines the conclusion of the electoral process

Brazil´s Superior Electoral Court (TSE) will hold a ceremony on December 12, at 2 p.m., in the plenary of the Court, to grant President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Vice President-elect, Geraldo Alckmin a diploma formalizing their election. The ceremony officially concludes the country´s electoral process.

The document, to be signed and delivered by Court´s head Justice Alexandre de Moraes, enables them to take office on January 1st, 2023.

The Superior Electoral Court is responsible for granting the diploma to President-elect and Vice President-elect. Federal representatives, senators, and governors are certified by the Regional Electoral Courts (TREs).
