Delgatti set to provide new statement to federal police today (18)
Hacker Walter Delgatti Netto is scheduled to issue another statement to the Brazilian federal police on Friday (Aug. 18). The hacker's legal representative, Ariovaldo Moreira, informed Rádio Nacional that he had received a summons and clarified that the necessary explanations would be provided at the federal police headquarters in Brasília. However, he did not confirm the exact timing of the upcoming hearing.
On Wednesday (Aug. 16), Delgatti presented evidence to the police, asserting that he had received BRL 40,000 from Federal Representative Carla Zambelli as payment to hack the intranet system of the Brazilian Judiciary, insert counterfeit documents, and disclose release permits for prisoners. The congresswoman vehemently refutes these accusations.
Yesterday (17), the hacker revealed before the Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry, which is currently investigating the pro-coup activities of January 8, that he had been offered a commitment to receive a pardon from former President Jair Bolsonaro, contingent upon his admission of involvement in wiretapping Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. A pardon, in this context, signifies a form of clemency issued via a presidential decree.
