Another award for Fernanda Torres. On Sunday, she won best actress in a drama film at the Satellite Awards, presented by the International Press Academy. Torres competed against Angelina Jolie, Lily-Rose Depp, Nicole Kidman, Saoirse Ronan, and Tilda Swinton.

The best actress in a comedy or musical was Demi Moore, who is competing with the Brazilian star at the 2025 Academy Awards.

I’m Still Here was also in the running for best international motion picture—but the winner was Waves, from the Czech Republic.

Because of the fires in Los Angeles, the Satellite Awards ceremony has been postponed. The date has not yet been announced.

The fires are also the reason for the postponement of the Critics Choice Awards, rescheduled for February 7. At the awards, I’m Still Here is up for best foreign-language film. Even though Torres was not nominated as an actress, she has already been honored by the Critics Association at the Latino Celebration for her performance in Walter Salles’ film.

The Brazilian is also in the running for the Oscar under best actress. In the race for the golden statuette, I’m Still Here has received an unprecedented nomination for best picture and is also in the running for best international film.

The Academy Awards will take place on March 2 in Los Angeles, California, during Carnival week in Brazil.
