Over 9.8 thousand new jobs in Brazil labor market in June
The Brazilian labor market created 9,821 new job openings in June. This is the third consecutive increase and the fourth this year, according to figures from the General Register of the Employed and Unemployed (CAGED), of the Labor and Employment Ministry, released today (Jul 17).
The year's accumulated total reached 67,358 jobs available. The 12-month number still indicates a decline of 749,060 jobs.
In the view of Labor Minister Ronaldo Nogueira, the figures still show that “the economy is showing signs of recovery.”
“It's better if it's gradual, with lower levels, than having a bubble. This signals to us that the economy is recovering in a positive way,” he argued. “We'd like to celebrate better numbers, but Brazil is a country with very specific isues. The government has fulfilled its role of sending signals to the market by approving the reforms. The positive figures are expected to hold steady up to the end of the year,” Nogueira noted.
