Brazil's industrial output slipped 0.8% in August from July, but closed out the first eight months of the year with a hike of 1.5%.
The reduction in August against the previous month breaks a streak of eight months of increased production—a period in which the industry saw an accumulated surge of 3.3%.
The figures can be found in an official document released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and show that the accumulated rate for the 12-month period was still negative and finished August at -0.1%.
