Applications designed for smartphones and tablets are powerful tool for tourists coming to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The application Infraero Voos Online, for instance, allows users to check and share flight schedules from 50 airports in Brazil, apart from useful information on hot destinations.

Aeroperto, another application, keeps users informed about leisure and shopping possibilities, and services near airports, in case they have to spend time waiting for a connection. All tourists have to do is provide their location and how long they are going to be idle, and the program shows a list with the options available. Moreover, the app offers information about check-in boarding times.

The tip for those looking for a taxi is the application Onde Tem Táxi Aqui? For linguistic guidance, foreigners have at their disposal such translation tools as iTranslate, Google Translate, Voice Translator and iTranslate Voice 2.

The apps developed by the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants, in turn, can give you a number of suggestions on the best places for eating and drinking in the states of Amazonas, Alagoas, Ceará, Paraíba, Pernambuco and the Federal District.

GuiaMais Turismo features recommendations for those interested in beaches, food, stores, services, maps and trips. Fellowtrip, a travel guide designed by the Ministry of Tourism, let users  create their own tours through the country, covering the best of what Brazil has to offer, with a wide offer of restaurants, nightclubs and hotels.

For currency exchange, the application Câmbio Legal, by the Brazil’s Central Bank, lets users know about institutions throughout the country allowed to perform exchange operations.

But there’s no use in having the money and not the physical energy to travel. That’s why the app Saúde na Copa was launched, in an attempt to offer international visitors health-related information, and help them find medical care near their location.

As for Human Rights, an application is available named Clique 180, which gives users direct access to a countrywide database with assorted services for women’s protection against violence.

Additionally, there is Proteja Brasil, an app designed by Unicef to allow users report crimes against children and adolescents.
