Former star footballer Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé, age 74, should be discharged from Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein this Tuesday (Dec. 9). According to a recent medical report, he is in good condition with no more signs of infection. His release is due to a steady improvement in his clinical condition.
Pelé was hospitalized on November 12 after feeling sick. Tests found the problem was caused by kidney, bladder, and urethra stones which were obstructing the urinary flow. The following day he had a surgery to remove the stones. On November 24, he was admitted to hospital again for a health check, and a urinary tract infection was detected.
