The deployment of Brazil’s National Public Security Force in the Triple Border region shared by Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, in Paraná state, was extended by an ordinance signed by the country’s Minister of Justice and Public Safety Anderson Torres, and made official today (Jun 2).

The National Force should remain mobilized in the area until November 30. No mention is made regarding further extensions.

Under to the ordinance, the National Force must act “in support of the state of Paraná and the public security agencies, in an episodic and planned manner, primarily in cities located in the Brazil-Argentina-Paraguay border region, in activities and services essential to the preservation of public order and the safety of people and property.”
