Brazil: Police crackdown on child sexual abuse images

Brazil’s Federal Police today (Mar. 9) carried out in Macaé, north of Rio de Janeiro state, two search and seizure warrants against people suspected of storing and sharing child sexual abuse images.

According to the police, one of the suspects was arrested for storing files containing scenes of sexual violence against children.

The police operation was triggered after investigations found that an internet service provider customer had downloaded and shared hundreds of files with child pornography content.

During the search, the police seized computers, cell phones, and storage devices. The material will be investigated.
