Minister Renato Janine confirmed to leave Education Ministry

Education Ministry confirmed on Wednesday (Sep. 30) the departure of Minister Renato Janine Ribeiro. The ministry issued a note to address the dismissal. Janine's departure of the ministry happens through negotiations of President Dilma Rousseff on the administrative reform. For the position, the ministry is expected to be led by current Chief of Staff Aloizio Mercadante, who would be handing over his position to Defense Minister Jaques Wagner.

On Wednesday (Sep. 30), Wagner announced that if invited to take the office, he would be on hand to help. He also stated that Communications Minister Ricardo Berzoini might continue performing the role as government's political negotiator.

During the afternoon, President of the Republic Dilma Rousseff received Renato Janine Ribeiro at the Presidential Palace, where she confirmed his dismissal. According to the spokesperson for Education Ministry, the president recognized and thanked Janine's work.
