Reform can be announced on Friday, says Michel Temer
Vice-president Michel Temer said Wednesday (Sep. 30) that the ministry reform can be announced only on Friday (Oct. 2). Temer received late on Wednesday in his office deputy Marcelo Castro, member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB) and listed by the party's bench at the Chamber of Deputies to take over the Health Ministry. But according to Temer—president of the PMDB—Castro went over just to greet him.
Since President Rousseff promised last week to cut ten of the 39 ministries in her government, she has been meeting with leaders of the PMDB and other parties trying to paint the best scenario for her new team. But according to the vice-president, the new scenario has not been fully constructed yet.
"There's still a lot to decide. Tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow night or on Friday," said Temer when leaving his office at the presidential palace.
Congressman Marcelo Castro reported that despite being expected to lead the Health Ministry, there was no formal announcement yet, "It depends only on the president."
