Bolsonaro recovers well, resumes presidency
The Brazilian government’s press office reported Wednesday (Jan. 30) that President Jair Bolsonaro can now walk the corridors of São Paulo’s Albert Einstein Hospital, where he is receiving treatment and showing clinical evolution. He resumed his post as head of state at 5 pm today (30).
Bolsonaro wrote on his Twitter account he has done exercise and physical therapy in hospital. “The support I’m receiving is crucial for my thorough recovery. Thank you very much! A hug to everyone!” he said.
The Brazilian president is recuperating from a surgery carried out Monday (28), which saw his intestinal tract rebuilt. Bolsonaro is receiving care at an intensive care unit, with privacy and visits from family members.
No date has been estimated for Bolsonaro to resume meetings with cabinet members and other officials. He is to remain in hospital for ten days.
