About  the investigation into Petrobras in the US: “No. It's part of the rules of the game. Companies quoted on the NY stock exchange have to comply with the rules of the NY stock exchange, which don't differ greatly from the Brazilian ones. Furthermore, the US have to investigate whether there are American citizens involved in some sort of irregularity,”Agencia Brasil/arquivo

President Dilma Rousseff said on Wednesday (Nov 12) in Doha, Qatar, that the ministerial reform—in which the Cabinet for her second administration will be defined—will not be carried out immediately.

“I've set no deadline and I'm not going to carry out the reform immediately. I'll do it gradually,” the president said.

The Brazilian head of state commented on the letter of resignation of Culture Minister Marta Suplicy, made known after the beginning of her official trip. “She told me what her letter was about before my trip, but shortly after I was re-elected, the minister told me she was leaving. She didn't do anything different or incorrect. She said she was leaving and I accepted it.” Mara Suplicy is now returnig to the Senate.

Regarding the passage in Suplicy's letter in which she says Brazilians wish “the economic staff could regain the trust and credibility of [Rousseff's] government,” the president merely remarked that “this is her opinion and people are entitled to express their opinion.”

When asked by journalists whether there are concerns over the investigation into Petrobras in the US, the president said, “No. It's part of the rules of the game. Companies quoted on the NY stock exchange have to comply with the rules of the NY stock exchange, which don't differ greatly from the Brazilian ones. Furthermore, the US have to investigate whether there are American citizens involved in some sort of irregularity,” she argued.

Following her visit to Qatar, President Rousseff proceeds to Australia, where she is to take part in a meeting with G20 countries—the world's 20 biggest economies—on November 15 and 16. “The G20 [meeting] will be about how to act facing the reform in the International Monetary Fund, and how G20's wish to promote sustainable and equitable development can be fulfilled in practical terms. I believe employment will be given a major focus,” she said.
